Flower Essences For Heart Health

Flower Essences For Heart Health

A person's emotional state has a direct effect on his or her heart health. Stress, tension, worry, fear, anger and other negative emotions can cause high blood pressure and exacerbate other forms of heart disease. Thirty-eight English wildflower remedies developed by the late Edward Bach, M.D. (1880-1936), address negative states of mind. Designed for self-use, each dose is simply a few drops of the extracts in water.

Bach developed a five-flower formula he dubbed "Rescue Remedy," which he said was a calming essence. This combination, which consists of cherry plum, clematis, impatiens, rock rose and Star of Bethlehem, is also produced by several other manufacturers under different names. These five flowers are believed to alleviate the following conditions. This information is not intended as medical advice.

Cherry Plum - fear of the mind giving way
Clematis - dreaming of the future without working in the present
Impatiens - impatience
Rock Rose - terror and fright
Star of Bethlehem - shock

Although flower remedies have undergone no formal clinical trials, this natural therapy has a growing number of proponents in the United States and throughout the world. For more information on Bach's original 38 "healers" and other essences, contact: The Dr. Edward Bach Centre and Foundation
